A new track from Jermaine off of Elite’s mixtape The Groundwork. 2010 should be a good year for J. Cole if he drops his album this year.

BTW it appears audio streaming no longer works. I’ll be looking for a fix on that, but I have some big announcements for Maxpreme in 2010 coming soon…

This was easily one of my favorite tracks from 2009. I mean it doesn’t get much better than Mos and Kweli on a Dilla beat. The video itself is pretty simple, but it goes nicely with the single off of the Grammy nominated album. I really hope  Ecstatic wins Best Hip Hop Album, but I’m not sure if he will win. This will not be the last we hear from Talib Kweli and Mos Def, as there is supposed to be another Black Star album in the works. I’m not expecting it to drop soon, but maybe at the end of the year. Let’s hope.

What a way to start 2010. What more could you ask for than a Reflection Eternal mixtape with new material from them? This is a dope collection of their classics as well as some of their upcoming songs and unreleased hits. This is all leading up to the Reflection Eternal album Revolutions Per Minute that will be dropping in March. I see no reason not to download this album as Kweli and Hi-tek should be a staple to everyone’s music library.

2010 should indeed be a great year for hip-hop.

Mickey took a much deeper approach to his latest body of work and it makes for some good music. It it a little different than his past works, but if you’re a fan, I am sure you will enjoy this as well.

Jay’z first video for the year is weird. There is no other way to put it. I mean the song has become one of my favorites after I completely hated it on the first listen. This video though is probably my least favorite from Jay. I mean what is with the weird images like the bottles of milk? I don’t get it, someone fill me in on what I am missing. I do like the new Jaguar XJ in the video though.

I’m back after a nice Winter Break and have a bunch of stuff to post. First off is the Secret Society mixtape from the NikeTalk fam. Before you laugh that its from NikeTalk, I was surprised at how good some of these tracks are. I mean I knew I would enjoy the tracks from like Wale, Blu, and G.o.D. Jewels, but the tracks like Sunroof Missin and Imaginations were my favorites. All of the production and rapping was done my members of NikeTalk, but I am dissappointed they couldn’t get a verse from Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, and Thurz. Anyways give this mixtape a try, it has pretty much all types of hip-hop.

Repping Toronto is Shaun Boothe on this smooth track featuring Talib Kweli. Kweli delivers on nearly every track he appears on and this is no exception. I like how Booth and Kweli go back at each other over the beat laced with strings. This is off of Shaun Boothe’s upcoming album Hip-Hop in 3D.
